"Lilly Rose Boyle O'Reilly"

Lilly Rose was a sweet and respectful Percheron mare. She was very empty when she arrived at the Rescue; not interested in any of her surroundings. It was painfully obvious to us that her life had not been an easy one. After consistent care with good food Lilly was starting to show some interest in her surroundings, herdmates and to us; but everyone of us knew what she needed. She needed a special person who would give her the one on one attention she loved.

That person was Michaela or Dr. Mike. Lilly lived out her last year with Michaela and her "big brother" Cole. She died peacefully in her own pasture surrounded by those that loved her. She could not recover from a flulike illness that hit her and Cole. Cole is fine. The Vet believes her previous hard life partly as a carriage horse in NYC had finally taken its toll. WE all miss "Lilly Rose Boyle O'Reillly".
