Foster Care

Foster care for a horse in need allows us to rescue horses that we are otherwise unable to help. When we hear of a horse in peril, we would keep your application to foster on record and phone you to see if you are still available to help a new horse in the rescue. The brief outline below will help you to decide if you can provide a horse in peril with TLC.

If you would like to help by caring for a rescued horse on a daily basis until adopted:

  1. 1. The horse that you will foster will be checked by a veteranarian and up to date on all shots.
  2. 2. You would be considered for foster care only after the facility where the rescued horse would be stabled is inspected.
  3. 3. You would be expected to provide feed for the horse a minimum of twice daily, ample hay, free access to water at all times and exercise as prescribed.
  4. 4. We would provide feed and hay as agreed upon in the contract.
  5. 5. Your new friend would be kept up to date with farrier visits and worming program.
  6. 6. A horse that is for companionship only cannot be ridden at any time.

If you feel that you can provide all of the above, we would love to hear from you.
