The first time I had the privilege of meeting Blinky Foster was a happy day indeed. Blinky with his jet black coat and white stripe was as friendly and beautiful as could be. Dave, Blinky's "Dad" explained that Blinky's tongue (which made Blinky such a comedian) was always there because he had lost all his teeth with age. So beautiful and a touch of humor that is how I remember Blinky. This was also the first time I was given the opportunity to meet his care givers, Dianne & Dave Foster. The Rescue had received a call that this family was interested in fostering a horse to keep their Blinky company as he was a bit lethargic these days. They were interested in Cole who was a beautiful boy but was a companion horse only. The references were checked, the barn inspected and the paperwork signed.

Blinky was getting a new companion! Little did we know that the Blinky we were privileged to meet would become a solid influence from this meeting in the lives of Kammie and Scottie as well;

two horses that were not even rescued yet!

What we did know was that this Rescue had made a true friend!

A year later, Kammie was also fostered by Dave & Dianne and Blinky and Kammie became friends!

Kammie was adopted by the Foster family by the end of that summer!

Blinky had touched not only Cole's life, but now had given a permanent home to Kammie as well!
Blinky's influence does not end here. Scottie, renamed Otter for his love of water, was at the Equine Affaire in 2010. Blinky's foster family came to visit us at this 2010 Equine Affaire to lend their support. Dave & Dianne's daughter, Michelle, came with them too and fell in love with Scottie! Yes, thanks to Blinky and his family Scottie (Otter) now has a loving home with Michelle and her family.
